About University of Central Oklahoma

UCO is a thriving, metropolitan university, intent on leading the way to bright, successful futures for our students and community. Through our quality academic programs, innovative leadership development opportunities and nurturing campus environment, we strive to make each student's UCO experience a transformative one.

Founded in 1890, UCO is Oklahoma's oldest institution of higher learning, and with close to 16,000 students, we are the state's third largest university. We're located on a 210-acre campus in Edmond, Okla., a northern suburb in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. Our location offers the campus community the benefit of living in what's been ranked as one of the safest communities in the country* with close proximity to the activities and opportunities of a rapidly growing city.

Led by President W. Roger Webb, UCO offers an ever-expanding list of academic majors (112 at last count!), including several programs you won't find anywhere else in the state or region. Check out the "Quick Facts" page—a Broncho Brag Board of sorts—for a glimpse of other distinctions that make UCO a special place to be.

To the left, you'll also find information about our core values—or the Three C's as we call them: Character, Civility and Community—as well as our vision, mission beliefs and more. Those statements are more than words that sound good on a brochure or plaque. The ideas and spirit they represent show in every degree earned, every dream realized, and every life transformed at UCO.

We look forward to you becoming a part of the Central family!

*According to the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation's 2007 crime statistics report, Edmond ranks as the 12th safest city in the country among cities with a population of more than 75,000.

Transformative learning is a holistic process that places students at the center of their own active and reflective learning experience.
